Course overview
Child abuse and neglect are a worldwide epidemic. In the U.S. alone, approximately 600,000 children were victims of maltreatment in 2021. This course will help staff recognize different types of abuse they may encounter, as well as notice the signs of abuse. It will also provide information on how to respond to disclosures, make reports, and help prevent child abuse and neglect (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services [HHS], 2023).
