Course overview
This course offers foundational information on the condition of a Frozen Shoulder including epidemiology, progression of symptomology, pathology and histology, disease classification, and clinical stages. It provides an overview of various treatment approaches, both conservative and surgical interventions, and potential complications of treatments. In addition, this course uses a unique approach through the inclusion of 2 clinical aspects: 1) a Clinical Application section reviewing exercises and manual therapy interventions for a frozen shoulder patient, and 2) a Clinical Case Scenario which details the dissection and interpretation of a clinical case involving a patient with the diagnosis of a frozen shoulder.

Course Goals
Upon completion of this course, the Therapist will:
1. Be able to IDENTIFY patients in the different Stages of the frozen shoulder by History and Physical Exam presentation.
2. LEARN about the different treatment options, conservative and surgical, and potential complications of treatments used in the care of a frozen shoulder patient.
3. CLINICAL APPLICATION: Be able to apply exercise and manual therapy techniques for the treatment of frozen shoulder in the Frozen Phase.
4. CLINICAL APPLICATION: Be able to APPLY interpretation of reviewed concepts in the analysis of a Clinical Case Scenario.
Course Objectives
1. Learn the epidemiology and clinical presentation of Frozen Shoulder.
2. Understand the different stages and progression of the frozen shoulder patient.
3. Analyze patient risk factors and systemic diseases associated with a Frozen Shoulder.
4. Learn the classification and pathology associated with a frozen shoulders.
5. Analyze and interpret the physical exam findings seen in a frozen shoulder patient.
6. Learn the recommended treatment options for a frozen shoulder, conservative & surgical.
7. Analyze and interpret the physical exam findings of known complications of treatments.
8. CLINICAL APPLICATION: Review exercise and Manual therapy mobilization technique used in the treatment of a frozen shoulder patient.
9. CLINICAL APPLICATION: apply Module 14 information in the dissection of a case scenario history and physical exam to derive appropriate management for the Clinical Case Scenario presented.
