Course overview
This course summarizes the pathophysiology of cardiac disease with regard to its pharmacologic treatment. Students will learn about nitroglycerin and how to use the patients response to differentiate angina from an MI. Students will also learn about drugs for high cholesterol and how to distinguish their side effects from true musculoskeletal impairments. The course will also cover drug treatment for congestive heart failure and explain the limitations of antiarrhythmic drugs.
