Course overview

Participants will be able to state 7 difference types of infidelities and how they affect treatment differently, will be able to describe why and how a relationship becomes vulnerable to an affair, will be able to describe the reactions of the betrayed partner, the betraying partner, the affair partner and the children, will be able to describe strategies for helping clients rebuild trust following an affair, will be able to state the importance of helping the couple create understanding and meaning from the infidelity, will be able to describe clinical skills to guide clients through the process of fostering forgiveness, will be able to describe the protective factors a couple needs to insulate themselves against further infidelity, and will be able to state the differences between healing with the betrayer and healing alone.
