Myofascial techniques and functional movement assessments for athletes and active people 16 CE - is a form of massage therapy that teaches participants to safely release fascial and muscular tension in the body. Functional assessments refers to postural problems and corrections working with myofascial in movement. Inspired by the work of Dr. Ida P. Rolf and mobility and movement practices. This course is a short introduction to safe myofascial techniques for working with the athlete/active population. Restrictions in the soft tissue are addressed with hands-on techniques by the therapist in synergy with active movement by the client. This style of work teaches massage therapists how to safely work deeper, conserve energy and use safe body mechanics, and is within the scope of practice for massage therapists. The teacher Magnus Eklund is an LMT (since 1994) a myofascial CE teacher/provider since 1999 and an Advanced Structural Integrator. He is the founder of SMT - Synergetic Myofascial Therapy, which includes: advanced myofascial techniques based on myofascial structural bodywork, joint range of motion, stretching techniques and functional movement and postural assessments.
