CXL: Taming of the Cone

Course overview

First a review of the causes of corneal steepening will be discussed, including: Keratoconus, Pellucid's Marginal Degeneration and Post-refractive Corneal Ectasia. Then treatment regimens currently available for the practitioner will be considered, from Gas Permeable (GP) and Scleral lenses to Hybrids. Lastly, newer treatment options will then be deliberated comprising of Conductive Keratoplasty, INTACS, and to conclude with a discussion of Corneal Cross-linking.
