·        Explain the components of the HIPAA legislation. 

·        Differentiate between protected health information (PHI) and individually identifiable

health information (IIHI).

·        Describe processes that must be used to assure patient information is kept confidential

and secure

·        Discuss three modifications to the HIPAA Act of 1996 by the American Recovery and

Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009.

·        Discuss three new provisions as noted in the HIPAA 2013 regulations.
