The course provides 1.0 hour of continuing education for professionals, incorporating reading-based materials and lesson tests in curricular modules. This course provides nursing professionals with the tools to care for patients affected by Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS). This course provides in-depth descriptions of the different stages, progression, and transmission of HIV and AIDS. It also identifies the differences between early HIV, chronic HIV, and AIDS including clinical presentation, possible comorbidities, treatment, and ongoing care the patient may require. Once completing this course, the nurse will be able to care for an HIV/AIDS patient at any stage of infection and provide them with holistic, patient-centered care.
