Course overview

This course was designed through CALM America and will be provided by certified trainers of this curriculum. Counseling on Access to Lethal Means is a suicide prevention training that focuses on reducing rates of suicide through the temporary removal of lethal means within the immediate environment of an individual who is at risk of or actively contemplating suicide. Statistics are shared throughout this training to provide awareness toward the importance of the means by which someone attempts suicide as well as the timeframe for intervention. It emphasizes putting time and distance between an individual and their access to lethal means as a way to prevent acts of suicide.
