The purpose of this course is to familiarize the learner with four common infectious conditions found in care settings. The four conditions presented are: methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE), norovirus, and clostridium difficile (C-Diff). For each condition, the pathophysiology, the infectious process, modes of transmission, treatment, and prevention are discussed.
