Management of Uterine Myomas

Course overview

Uterine myomas are the most common solid pelvic tumors in women of reproductive age. They are benign growths that are also called uterine fibroid tumors, leiomyomas, leiomyomata, leiomyofibroma, or fibromyoma. Uterine myomas are noncancerous tumors, typically made of uterine smooth muscle. They are the leading cause of hysterectomy. This course will discuss the latest prevalence rates of myomas, etiology, most common symptoms, and treatment options. The goal of this course is to inform nurses about uterine myomas (also known as uterine fibroid tumors), the most common tumors affecting the female reproductive tract.
