Assessing pain objectively in our veterinary patients can be challenging. This course will introduce the Glascow Composite Measure Pain Scale and through the use of images and videos guide veterinary technicians in the use of the scale to measure pain in our canine and feline patients. We will introduce the SF - GCMPS as a validated tool for measuring pain in canine and feline patients. We will show a short video of a pain assessment of a canine followed by a breakdown of each section of the SF-GCMPS with signs of pain in picture/video form. This will allow technicians to practice using the form.
