This is a new and innovative program geared to medical professionals who may encounter a live birth outside of the delivery room. Medical professional working in Emergency Departments, ambulatory clinics, home births, birth centers, doctor offices and EMS provider calls all may encounter an emergent situation that demands they provide the most current, up to date treatment for the newborn during their transition through, and immediately following, the birth process. This 6-hour training program has been designed to meet the needs of a healthcare provider to provide the most current skills set to assess, evaluate and manage newborn infants outside of a delivery room setting. This education is based on recommended standards developed by the AAP, AHA, and ILCOR and is presented via didactic classroom sessions, including case presentation exercises combined with live skills training.
