Course overview
This course is an overview of the Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting (OCGR) and how these guidelines impact Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) practice. Assigning principal diagnoses, secondary diagnoses, patient discharge status codes, and hospital transfer codes are all important elements of accurate coding and reporting. An understanding of appropriate coding related to hospital-acquired conditions and present on admission status is also required for appropriate documentation. The goal of this course is to provide helpful information regarding guidelines for coding and reporting. This course is not affiliated with the Association of Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS).
