Course overview
This module will provide nurses with information about the Romani (Gypsy) culture so that they can provide culturally congruent care to Romani patients and their families. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to: describe the history of the Romani people, including geographical origin, language, and religion, identify health care-related cultural values and traditions important to the Romani patient and family, and discuss nursing interventions helpful in integrating Romani cultural values and traditions into the plan of care.
