Course overview
As part of your responsibilities as a healthcare professional licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners, it is essential that you understand the Board's Rules that pertain to Clinical Laboratory Personnel (CLPs). The topics in this course represent the Rules and Regulations pertaining to the Clinical Laboratory Personnel Law (LA Rev. Stat - 37 1311 et seq.) and Chapter 35 of the boards rules. The rules were promulgated in 1994 and subsequently updated in 2016. They are subject to change, and as they do, this course will be updated accordingly. As a professional practicing laboratory science in the State of Louisiana, it is your duty to maintain current working knowledge of all rules and regulations as they pertain to your practice. Licensees who are found in violation of a practice act provision will also be required to take the course to review the rules for their profession.
