Course overview

The 1 CE credit hour HIV/AIDS Universal Precautions home study course is designed to further participants' knowledge in the principles and practices of protecting themselves and their clients from exposure to HIV/AIDS. This course explains what HIV is, what AIDS is, and pertinent statistics relating to the two. This course outlines ways that a person can and cannot contract HIV. It also outlines precautions for massage therapists to take in order to minimize their exposure to HIV. This course is written to meet the requirement of an HIV/AIDS course for massage therapists licensed in the State of Florida and to further any nationally certified, licensed massage therapist's knowledge of HIV/AIDS and universal precautions.
