Course overview
This course examines the role of child-parent communication and parental knowledge between Sexual Minority Girls (SMG) vs heterosexual girls and their association with substance use, including cigarette use. It includes: covariates of sociodemographic characteristics and neighborhood, sexual orientation as a predictor of group trajectory, associations between sexual orientation, trajectory groups and substance use, sexual orientation as a predictor variable, predictors of group membership, and parent-child communication and parental knowledge trajectories as mediators.
