This course presents the importance of early mobility in child development, specifically the use of power wheelchairs with very young children. Research supports improvements in key areas of development with the onset of self-initiated mobility. Strategies to determine readiness for power mobility are presented. Finally, if a child is not yet ready, interventions to develop readiness are addressed.
