Ecological Systems of Care Across Child-Serving Agencies

Course overview

This course provides information about ecological systems of care across the child-serving agencies in most jurisdictions, including mental health systems, public health, education, child welfare, and juvenile justice. You will increase your understanding of what an ecological system of care is, and learn how to identify what it means and how it differs from the way children have historically been served. In this course, you will develop an understanding of how this system of care approach to children and adolescents came about. You will also learn about some of the principles that have fostered and grown a systems of care philosophy and the benefits of an ecological mentality when serving children, families, and the communities where they live.
