Vasoactive Drugs in the OR

Course overview

This course discusses the vasoactive drugs commonly used in the OR. More specifically, it discusses the mechanism of action, indications, and physiologic effects of vasoactive drug therapy. It also provides standard dosages for the safe administration and titration of vasoactive drugs. Familiarity with vasoactive agents is key to ensuring patient safety and reducing the risk of patient morbidity and mortality. The goal of this course is to enhance the working knowledge of vasoactive drugs in acute clinical settings, specifically the OR.
