Course overview
The purpose of this course is to understand the care of patients with ostomies. You will learn about various diseases leading to ostomy creation, types of ostomies, and utilization of ostomy supplies. Additional information included in this lesson includes considerations for patients on chemotherapy and management of mucositis, fistulas, drains and tubes, and review of the multitude of surgeries for patients needing a fecal or urinary ostomy or other type of diversion.
