Advanced Cardiovascular Nursing: Oxygenation & Mechanical Ventilation

Course overview

Oxygenation is necessary to sustain life and cardiovascular function. Working in the cardiovascular specialty requires an understanding of the basic pathophysiology and mechanisms behind oxygenation and ventilation. When patients undergo cardiac surgery, procedures, or experience respiratory decompensation, cardiovascular nurses must be equipped with the knowledge and skills to assess, intervene, and support those who require respiratory support and mechanical ventilation. The goal of this course is to provide information about oxygenation and mechanical ventilation to facilitate successfully passing the Cardiac-Vascular Nursing (CV-RN) Level II board certification examination. This course is not affiliated with the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine.
