Course overview

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is an uncommon disease that causes high blood pressure in the lungs of the affected individual. It is a progressive disease that can result in reduced life expectancy, along with reduced quality of life and reproductive limitations. Diagnosis and treatment of this disease are critical to improve life expectancy among sufferers and improve quality of life. It is important that clinicians understand how to recognize the signs of symptoms of different PH groups and how each is treated, how to determine the level of severity of a patients PH, and the clinicians role in assessing and managing patients with PH in both the inpatient and outpatient setting.
