This is a course that is designed to introduce a systematic, comprehensive, and evidence-based sensorimotor control program aimed at functional recovery for patients suffering from upper quarter pain, dysfunction, and or performance deficits. The course will examine state of the art sensorimotor control and learning principles to address patients' specific upper extremity control needs in a diagnosis-inclusive fashion. A progressive approach to a functional examination will be presented that can serve as a segue to designing and implementing a progress a program that addresses locomotor and somatosensory fundamental reactivation. Corrective strategies will be introduced that correspond with functional examination findings. The instructor will connect these corrective strategies to fundamental performance, agility training and advancement into functional recovery. Functional management strategies will be related to clinical examination findings and manual therapy treatment. Various different strategies will be discussed relevant to each patient's clinical presentation.
