The LIVE portion of this course offers live lecture and extensive hands-on lab demonstrating and modeling techniques. PowerPoint presentations are used and participants receive a manual with all course materials printed. The IAOM live (hands-on) Differential Diagnosis and Musculoskeletal Management of the Distal Upper Extremity course takes an in-depth look at proximal and distal radioulnar, humero-radial and humeroulnar, and wrist joints biomechanics and pathoanatomy (including primary and secondary dysfunctions of the forearm, wrist and thumb), carpal pathologies, functional instability, basic and specific clinical examination of the forearm, wrist and thumb joint complex, clinical interpretation and differential diagnosis, management suggestions for acute and recurrent/chronic conditions, among others. The hands-on experience at the two-day live courses emphasizes teaching and practicing clinical examination, differential diagnosis, management development, and orthopedic manual therapy. This experience focuses on techniques and problem solving, as well as clinical analysis, synthesis and application via case studies.
