The year 2020 was an uncommon year with unprecedented events: A pandemic, Black Lives Matter Movement, concerns about law enforcement misuse of force. These events have brought social justice and racism to the forefront of conversation. Social Justice is prevalent in the NASW Code of Ethics; it is in the preamble, it is a value of the profession, it is then expanded on to be an ethical principle, and it is included in the ethical standards as a responsibility when promoting social welfare. This lecture will offer a framework to practicing from a social justice perspective in daily practice. In addition, all social workers require resiliency to carry out our daily role and responsibilities. This lecture will discuss resiliency and resiliency practices.
