The Central Vascular Access Device Infection Control program was developed to provide essential education regarding the prevention of bloodstream infections associated with the placement of central venous catheters. This program covers infection prevention issues and bundles as described in standards, guidelines and research publications. The evidence based practices included are designed to positively affect and help reduce infection rates in all facilities. Infection control involves the following objectives: 1. Understand infections and how they occur 2. Define CLABSI 3. Describe institutional protocols designed to prevent infection 4.Identify evidence based practices that reduce infection
