Course overview

This program is to provide critical care nurses with information about anemia of critical illness (ACI), including the prevalence, etiologies, signs and symptoms, management strategies, and treatment complications in adult patients. After studying the information presented here, you will be able to: identify two common etiologies of ACI, describe three methods of treating and preventing ACI, and discuss the potential complications of blood transfusion in the treatment of ACI.
