Participants will be able to describe the history of mental health treatment within the US prison system, will be able to describe an understanding of the unique presentation of mental illness within the criminal justice population, will be able to describe the unique challenges of serving clients in a prison setting, will be able to describe what treatment approaches are associated with reduced recidivism, will be able to describe evidence-based modalities of treatment with the criminal justice population, and will be able to describe methods for improving their effectiveness as a provider with a prison population.
