Course overview

The eJournal is an online pathology journal club that reviews current articles from a peer-reviewed cytopathology Journal. Participants will be able to review the journal article, commentary and webinar from the contributing author. This is a great self-assessment, teaching and continuing education tool. TARGET AUDIENCE This educational activity is designed for pathologists, cytopathologists, cytotechnologists, students and other members of the cytopathology community. LEARNING OBJECTIVES To discuss the role of residual supernatant material as a source of both cellular and cell free DNA (cfDNA) To compare the molecular tests done on this source (supernatant) from fine needle aspirates to the clinical sample counterparts including formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue To evaluate the centrifugation setting on supernatant overall cellularity(OC) and tumor cellularity (TC) yield were evaluated To reflect on how delayed molecular testing after 3, 4 and 7 days performed.
