This workshop provides an overview of fundamental research skills for cytology. While the course was originally designed for trainees, the material will be very useful information for established pathologists as well . The format offers convenient virtual lectures that can be viewed whenever you like, along with a live interactive session with the workshop faculty scheduled for October 27, 2022. TARGET AUDIENCE This educational activity is designed for pathologists, fellows/residents, cytotechnologists, and other members of the cytopathology community. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Develop key skillsets for designing research studies including hypothesis generation, choice of control groups, appropriate statistical testing, navigating multi-institutional studies, and adhering to research ethics Learn basic statistical tests essential for cytopathology research and provide additional statistics resources for more complex studies Improve research communication via effective data visualization, poster design, platform presentation, and use of social media Understand the process of writing the manuscript, submission, and publication in peer-reviewed journals Enhance networking to establish mentorship and foster collaborations within the cytopathology community
