Medication-related problems can lead to many negative health outcomes. This course will cover common problems related to medications and ways to avoid them. Assisting with or administering drugs is an important job. It is vital for you to be prepared for some common problems that may arise. Using communication and observation and optimizing your skills in medication safety will be discussed. You may find that you have no direct duties related to assisting or administering medication. However, you are a part of the healthcare team that looks out for the persons in your care. Your observations, communication, and reporting of needed information are vital. Safe medication practices are a team effort. All staff can play a vital role in achieving medication safety.
