Course overview
In home-based care, nurses who care for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) must approach the children and their families holistically. The overall goal of nursing care is to improve the quality of life for the child with ASD and their family. In this course, you will learn about practical approaches to achieving all of these goals by exploring the common characteristics of ASD, the team-based approach and role of the nurse in providing care, and common nursing interventions for children with ASD.
