Course overview

Obesity in children and adolescents is on the rise. Childhood and adolescent obesity is not only associated with long-term negative health consequences but also an increased likelihood of adult obesity. This course focuses on a behavioral intervention for pediatric obesity. Learning Objectives: * Review a description of pediatric obesity, including the standards for defining obesity and prevalence. * Compare a behavioral approach to various treatment alternatives. * Review a description of the important steps and techniques for a behavioral intervention.
