The use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) in the treatment of dysphagia is well established among therapists treating dysphagia. Support in the peer-reviewed literature continues to grow and different protocols are being explored. This presentation will review the key findings from the literature and highlight their relevance to the practice of NMES in dysphagia therapy.
