Course overview
Surface electromyography (sEMG) is a valuable tool for rehabilitation of the patient with facial palsy. Audio and/or visual feedback can be used for neuromuscular retraining to facilitate recovery of function in patients with facial palsy. Delayed recovery is associated with higher incidence of synkinesis with more impairment of function. sEMG can also help these patients learn to inhibit or delink unwanted patterns.
