The Other Ligaments: Multiple Ligament Injury and Treatment
Tracking # 20-946450
Course overview
There are ligaments of the knee other than the ACL, and attention to these is required. As these other ligaments have specific functions, treatment is dictated by the structure/function relationship. This also plays a role in management decisions and if operative intervention is required. The tibial collateral, fibular collateral, posterior cruciate, medial patellofemoral, and anterolateral ligaments, in conjunction with the capsule, will be discussed for both injury mechanisms and treatment. Return to play after treatment will be the emphasis in rehabilitation decisions.
