Course overview
The current regulations related to the skilled nursing facility (SNF) Medicare coverage are complicated and can be confusing to nurses. This course provides an insight into the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) definitions of skilled services and skilled levels of care. It also provides the different aspects of skilled nursing and rehabilitation services and explains how the Administrative Level of Care Presumption of Coverage regulations pertain to Medicare coverage. An understanding of SNF Medicare regulations results in improved processes from admission to discharge of a Medicare beneficiary. The goal of this course is to educate nurses in skilled nursing facilities on Medicare skilled services.
