Management of Diverticular Disease

Course overview

Diverticular disease is the most common gastrointestinal (GI) disease among those living in the U.S. but the disease presents with vague and sometimes conflicting symptoms that can be difficult to decipher (Wales VanReken et al., 2020). Diverticular disease can often be confused with colon cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis, or Crohns disease. The purpose of this course is to provide healthcare professionals with information about the pathophysiology, risk factors, and symptoms of diverticular disease. Additionally, best practice guidelines will be reviewed for the diagnosis, management, and prevention of the disease.
