Working with Culturally Diverse Colleagues
Tracking # 20-949934
Course overview
The U.S. is becoming more culturally diverse than ever, but the nursing workforce remains largely non-Hispanic white. Cultural differences among staff can create problems in communication and lead to conflicts that affect how the healthcare team works together. Learning about cultural differences in work patterns and communication styles as well as specific strategies for working effectively within a diverse environment will improve outcomes. The goal of this course is to equip nurses and physicians in the acute care setting with knowledge on how to work effectively with colleagues from other cultures. Examples are provided for educational purposes only and should not be construed as generalizations about all individuals within a culture.
