Safe Administration of Chemotherapy

Course overview

The course provides information about how to handle chemotherapeutic agents safely. It includes information about the hazards of chemotherapy exposure, the Big Three sources of exposure, along with how to avoid them. It also discusses how to create a safe environment and professional standards for chemotherapy administration. Nurses will learn which personal protective equipment (PPE) to use to protect themselves from chemotherapy exposure. The goal of this course is to highlight the role of nurses in handling and administering chemotherapy.
