Course overview
This course explores the long-term physical, psychological, and social impacts of exposure to catastrophic events at Ground Zero, particularly the September 11, 2001 attacks. Participants will examine the complex health outcomes resulting from acute and chronic exposure to environmental toxins, trauma, and stress, including respiratory illnesses, mental health disorders, and multi-system conditions. Emphasis is placed on early recognition, comprehensive assessment, evidence-based management, and the importance of ongoing monitoring and support for affected populations.
