Course overview

Participants will be able to list the DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria for youth with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder, as well as the most frequent co-morbid disorders that this group experiences, will be able to name a wide range of risk factors and protective factors essential to understanding disruptive youth, will be able to describe valuable skills in a bio-psycho-social approach to assessing disruptive youth and their families, will be able to describe seven empirically supported treatments for disruptive youth and their families, will be able to describe youth most likely to benefit from psychiatric medications, and will be able to name four school-based interventions valuable for mainstream and minority youth.
