Course overview
This interactive lecture discusses one of the most common endocrine disorders: diabetes, a metabolic disorder in which the bodys ability to metabolize glucose is impaired. The module also explores two conditions related to diabetes: hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia, along with their assessment and management. Disorders related to the adrenal glands are also discussed. The endocrine system influences almost every cell, organ, and function of the body. Patients suffering from an endocrine disorder often are seen with multiple signs and symptoms that require a thorough assessment and immediate treatment.
