This 3 ceu course shows how the layman's term of toxic mom is akin to the clinical definition of a person with narcissistic personality disorder. It shows how the patterns of behavior found in toxic mothers become a narcissistic dance that is repeatedly performed as their children are used as tools to satisfy their never-ending neediness for attention and control. The course discusses the negative effects on children that are carried into adulthood, as well as the role of the therapist, the role of nurses, evidenced based treatment methods, and prevention.
