This interactive lecture delves into traumatic brain injury, which is a worldwide public health problem that affects over 10 million people annually across the globe. Patients with TBI can be some of the most challenging trauma patients to treat. Skilled care in the prehospital setting focuses on ensuring the adequate delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the brain and rapidly identifying patients at risk for herniation and elevated intracranial pressure.
