Course overview

Instructor: Carol Falendar, Ph.D. This workshop introduces the most current best practices and guidelines for telesupervision and supervision. Participants will learn the complexity of the multiple components of supervisor competence both in remote (telesupervision) and in face-to-face clinical supervision. Emphasis will provide a lens on multicultural identities and worldviews in the context of establishing the supervisory relationship translated to the supervision contract and to excellent practice in goal setting and anchored feedback, assessing relationship and outcomes, the impact of trauma and trauma-informed supervision, managing countertransference and emotional reactivity, enhancing supervisor competence in self-awareness, care, and support, and a proactive approach to ethical and legal issues. Lecture, discussion, and attention to complex issues in supervision will be included. This class meets the clinical supervision course requirement for licensure renewal.
