Course overview

From fireworks to terror-related events, explosions occur in the U.S. every year. Whether an intentional act or an accident, explosions and blasts can seriously injure and even cause death. In this course, we will review the anatomy of an explosion, identify blast injury mechanisms, and highlight the most commonly encountered types of blast injuries. We will also explore the pathophysiology of blast injuries on various body organs and discuss treatment options for blast injury victims.
