Course overview

This course is designed to meet the 2-hour laws and rules requirement for occupational therapy license renewal in the state of Florida. The roles of OTs are expanding within evolving healthcare and community settings. These changes require increased reliance on professional judgement and support systems to address novel ethical situations in addition to age old ethical dilemmas. Knowledge regarding state laws and rules is essential to navigating ethical and legal practice in Florida. This course will inform occupational therapists on applicable state legal codes and mandates and enable occupational therapists to navigate ethically challenging scenarios and create ethically supportive environments in order to decrease moral distress and improve professional outcomes.
